Carol Sutherland is an artist and teacher living in Atlanta, Georgia. After obtaining her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Agnes Scott College, Carol taught art for nine years at St. Pius X High School.
In 1979, she launched Carol Sutherland Studios and created commissioned artworks in various mediums, including painting, drawing, silk screen, etched glass, and photography. Many of her works can be seen in corporate environments, wellness centers, hospitals, banks, law firms, hotels, restaurants, and private residences in the US. Her clients have included Coca-Cola, Ben & Jerry’s, Anheuser-Busch, National Bank of Georgia, The Varsity and the Peninsula Hotel in New York.
After a trip to Hawaii in the early 90s, Carol began to focus her work on vibrant color pencil works with a tropical theme. Since 1997, she has been a popular art instructor at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, where she teaches a comprehensive certificate course in botanical drawing.
This year she has added online instruction and is now able to connect with students from all over the world!
